An eight-team shootout that began in 1995 evolved into a 14-team tournament in 1997, and soon became a full-fledged 32-team girls’ tournament, mirroring the boys’ tournament format. Many players have participated, and after 25 years of competition, nearly 10,000 fan votes were cast for a total of 57 different athletes in a quest to name an All-Quarter Century Team.
