All-time Overall Results

For over four decades, the Holiday Classic has been a showcase of great talent and unbelievable basketball in Bloomington-Normal. Compiled here are the final team results and all-tournament teams for every year of the Classic — from 1975 until today. Some of these teams and players show up in our record book, and many also went on to success at the collegiate and professional levels.

Currently, all-tournament teams are selected by the State Farm Holiday Classic’s Student Athlete-Recognition subcommittee, based on input from members of the news media, participating coaches/athletic directors and tournament committee members. Wondering which team has had the most players selected to an all-tournament team since 1975? Find out.

2020 — No Tournament

For the first time since 1989, the Holiday Classic was not played. To adhere to guidelines and restrictions put forth by both the IHSA and State of Illinois due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was canceled for the health and safety of all participants.

In its place, a Classic Can Drive was held. Participating teams and fans collected a truck full of non-perishable food and items to donate to Midwest Food Bank.

An eight-team shootout that began in 1995 evolved into a 14-team tournament in 1997, and soon became a full-fledged 32-team girls’ tournament, mirroring the boys’ tournament format.

Thousands of players have participated, and after 25 years of competition, nearly 10,000 fan ballots were cast for a total of 57 different athletes in a quest to name an All-Quarter Century Team.

Many are worthy, but the following six were recognized as the elite:
