2015 State Farm Holiday Classic pairings released

The pairings and brackets for the 2015 State Farm Holiday Classic (Dec. 28-31) have been released. You can view all the brackets here:

Overall:

• 6 of the 64 teams are currently undefeated
• 17 of the 64 teams are currently state-ranked
• 33 of the 64 teams have two or fewer losses
• Combined records of 64 team field is 209-168 for a .554 winning percentage
• Six teams in this year’s field took home state trophies last season, twice as many as any other holiday tournament in the state (Girls: Morton, Rochester, Kankakee Bishop McNamara, Bloomington Central Catholic. Boys: Rockford Lutheran, Normal Community)
• Ten teams won Sectional titles last year, and 26 of the 64 teams won Regional championships.

Small School Girls:

• Top 4 seeds – #1 Champaign St. Thomas More, #2 Rockford Lutheran, #3 Annawan, #4 Peoria Notre Dame
• 12 of the 16 teams have a.500 record or better, with six teams currently undefeated or only having one loss
• Combined record of bracket is 67-44 for a .604 winning percentage
• State-ranked teams from latest AP poll (Dec. 1) – Annawan (#2 in Class 1A), Champaign St. Thomas More (#3 in Class 3A), Brimfield (#5 in Class 1A), Rock Island Alleman (#6 in Class 2A), Rockford Lutheran (#7 in Class 3A), Bloomington Central Catholic (#17 in Class 2A) and Peoria Christian (#20 in Class 2A)

Small School Boys:

•  Top 4 seeds – #1 Rockford Lutheran, #2 Quincy Notre Dame, #3 Champaign St. Thomas More, #4 St. Joseph-Ogden
• Six of the 16 teams are currently undefeated or only have one loss
• Combined record of bracket is 40-35 for a .534 winning percentage
• State-ranked teams from latest AP poll (Dec. 1) – St. Joseph-Ogden (#4 in Class 2A) and Kewanee (#9 in Class 2A)

Large School Girls:

• Top 4 seeds – #1 Morton, #2 Rock Island, #3 Springfield, #4 Normal U-High
•  Eight of the 16 teams currently have a winning record
• Combined record of bracket is 57-54 for a .514 winning percentage
• State-ranked teams from latest AP poll (Dec. 1) – Morton (#1 in Class 3A), Rock Island (#8 in Class 4A), Rochester (#9 in Class 3A), Springfield (#14 in Class 3A) and Normal U-High (#15 in Class 3A)

Large School Boys:

• Top 4 seeds – #1 Chicago North Lawndale, #2 Rock Island, #3 Zion-Benton, #4 Normal U-High
• Ten of 16 teams have two or fewer losses.
• Combined record of bracket is 45-35 for a .562 winning percentage
• State-ranked teams from latest AP poll (Dec. 1) – Edwardsville (#6 in Class 4A), Rock Island (#13 in Class 4A) and Champaign Centennial (#18 in Class 4A)
